Srujana

Sensitive and deeply passionate, Srujana has pursued Bharatanatyam with patience and quiet determination. Her arangetram reflects the sincerity and perseverance of her journey — a programme prepared without shortcut, performed without affectation. Ten years of practice gave her recital a particular quality: nothing seemed effortful, and nothing seemed easy either. The varnam — chosen in Todi, a raga that asks much of the dancer — settled into the auditorium like a long-held breath.
